Tile Layout Planner cover

No slivers at the wall, and the right number of boxes.

The two ways a tiling job goes wrong: a 15 mm strip of tile along the most visible wall, and a second trip to the shop for one more box that is now from a different batch. This prevents both.

WHAT IT DOES

  • Tries every sensible starting line (tile centred, joint centred, on each axis) and keeps the one with no slivers; or you choose
  • Draws the layout to scale with cut tiles shaded and the cut width labelled at every wall
  • Straight grid, running bond (half or third offset), diagonal and herringbone
  • Cut list: piece sizes per wall and how many, with two edge cuts paired from one tile where they fit
  • Lippage warning for long tiles at a half offset
  • Chalk-line set-out distances from the walls
  • Compare all four patterns on the same room: tiles laid, to buy, cut pieces, smallest cut
  • Whole job: any number of areas with openings subtracted, totals for tiles, boxes, grout (kg from the standard formula), adhesive bags by trowel notch, spacers
  • Millimetres or inches

Tile Layout Planner

no sliver cuts at the wall, the drawn layout, cut list, and boxes, grout and adhesive for the whole job

Room and tile sizes in. It tries tile-centred and joint-centred starts on both axes and picks the one that leaves no sliver at any wall, draws the layout with cut tiles shaded, lists the cut sizes for each edge, compares grid, running bond, diagonal and herringbone, and totals tiles, boxes, grout, adhesive and spacers across every area in the job.
