• Resize a pattern: cast-on from your measurement and ease that still fits the stitch repeat, with the closest alternatives
• Spread evenly: increases or decreases across a row, written as a pattern line ("K4, M1, *K8, M1; rep from * 10 more times, K4") with a picture of the row; M1, M1L, KFB or YO
• Shape over rows: "dec every 6th row 4 times, then every 8th row 5 times", right-side rows only if you like, with a row map
• Row counter with repeat reminders for cables, decreases and anything else, keyboard and chime
• Yarn needed: yardage from a swatch and your pieces, skeins to buy, and whether your stash covers it
